  • Two of Melbourne's house and disco staples, C Grade and The House de Frost, will both celebrate their fifth birthdays later this month. C Grade has been run by Melbourne jocks Tornado Wallace and Otologic since 2008, with a number of locals making regular appearances along the way. The fifth anniversary will be held on June 29th at their usual spot, The Mercat Basement, with the founding DJs celebrating the landmark birthday with balloon animals and music from Darajuana and a group of friends dubbed the 'C Grade Early Bird All Stars.' The party runs from 10 PM right through to 8 AM. The House de Frost has also become a Melbourne institution at The Toff In Town, with host Andee Frost taking to the decks every Saturday night for half a decade, regularly playing extended solo sets. Past guests at the party have included DJ Harvey, Trevor Jackson and Tim Sweeney, however the birthday jam on July 6th will be an exclusively local affair. Helping celebrate early will be three Melbourne bands: seven-piece post-punkers No Zu, live synth duo Zanzibar Chanel and meditative quartet Elevator Alligators. From there, Frost will be supported on the turntables by young talent Andras Fox until the party winds up at 5 AM.
