Tiga and Guy Gerber are among those who will play the Sunday outdoor parties this summer.
Piknic Electronik has released its full schedule for summer 2013.
Now a staple of the Montreal clubbing scene, Piknic Electronik takes over Parc Jean-Drapeau nearly every Sunday afternoon until the end of September. Each party has two stages, one in a concrete plaza and one along the edge of a pond, and the park is outfitted with drink booths and a food area as well. This year's summer program follows the announcement that the series will return to Barcelona for a second year after a successful first go in 2012.
The lineup is the typical mix of house and techno artists, and includes some label showcases and festival partnerships—not to mention a whole lot of Montreal locals. Some of the highlights include Turbo's 15th birthday celebrations on June 24th with Tiga and Bordello, along with a Sound In Motion showcase on June 30th with Pursuit Grooves. French festival Les Siestes Électroniques will host the July 14th edition with Pilooski, while Toronto collective My Favorite Robot will headline their own showcase on the 28th of that month. Other standouts include Guy Gerber, DJ Tennis, Gui Boratto (playing a special Saturday event) and Eats Everything. Piknic's summer will wrap up on September 22nd with a party headlined by Radio Slave.
