- The artist formerly known as Kate Wax will release her first EP under her birth name on her recently launched Danse Noire label.
Aïsha Devi will release her debut EP, Aura 4 Everyone, this June through her own Danse Noire imprint.
Calling it Devi's "debut" is somewhat misleading, though: up until this release, the Swiss-Tibetan producer and songwriter called herself Kate Wax, and she's responsible for a handful of albums and singles for labels like Border Community and Mental Groove under that moniker. Her use of her real name coincides with the launch of her label, which issued its first record last week in the form of Vaghe Stelle's Out Of Body EP.
Aura 4 Everyone finds Devi taking her sound even further out while also maximizing its danceability. (She cites her meditation practice as a major influence on the project.) Perhaps to emphasize the danceability point, she's tapped a pair of adventurously floor-friendly artists, Cooly G and Willie Burns, to provide remixes.
