- The Mouse On Mars producer will release a new solo album in June.
Jan St. Werner, AKA one half of Mouse On Mars, will release a new solo album in June.
Blaze Colour Burn will see release through the long-running Thrill Jockey imprint. It's the first in a new series called Fiepblatter, which the label says "will encompass electro-acoustic experimentation, algorithmic elements, scored music, digital signal processing, field recordings, improvisation, public performance and graphic works."
The album promises to be typically ambitious in scale: "Spiazzacorale," which has been divided into two parts, was trimmed down from an eight-hour live performance in Umbria, Italy. That piece alone apparently features a flute orchestra, a traditional Umbrian band and a vibraphonist. For an idea of what to expect from Blaze Colour Burn, you can listen to "Feed Opener" over on the Thrill Jockey SoundCloud page.
