- Suzanne Kraft and JD Twitch will appear on the LA duo's second album, due out in July.
Soft Metals will release Lenses on July 29th.
Ian Hicks and Patricia Hall first appeared with a self-titled album back in 2011, when they were still based in Portland. That record was a collection of lo-fi pop made with old synths and drum machines, inspired by contemporary acts like Blank Dogs and vintage krautrock and synth pop. They recorded their second full-length, Lenses, after a move to Los Angeles. The LP, which will be released through Captured Tracks, reportedly shows the duo moving in a more dance-oriented direction. Fellow LA resident Suzanne Kraft handles the bass on "In The Air," while Optimo member Keith McIvor, AKA JD Twitch, adds keys and percussion to a few songs. You can stream first single "Tell Me" here.
