  • German DJ Gerd Janson has a handful of US appearances lined up this month. Janson heads up Running Back, the highly-regarded, wide-ranging imprint which has put out records from the likes of Redshape, Smallpeople and Raudive in recent months. He's also earned a reputation for his skills behind the decks, as evidenced by a busy gigging schedule that includes regular appearances at Frankfurt's Robert-Johnson and Berlin's Panorama Bar. This set of shows looks to be his first in the US, and it'll kick off this weekend in Chicago and Philadelphia. Next Friday, Janson will head to New York City, linking up with Red Bull Music Academy—he's a longtime RBMA team member—during the academy proper for a party at 88 Palace also featuring East Coast disco stalwarts Metro Area and Night Slugs bosses Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990. The following weekend, he's due for an appearance in Seattle, after which he'll play for Icee Hot at Public Works in San Francisco. Berlin-based selector Objekt, a participant at this year's RBMA, will also be on hand at that one.
