  • Veteran producer and live act Mathew Jonson will bring his wide-ranging, hard-hitting techno to the US with three gigs in May. Jonson's stateside appearances come as he prepares for the release of his sophomore album, Her Blurry Pictures, due out on Crosstown Rebels in June. First up on Friday, May 17th is a Wagon Repair night with As You Like It at Mighty in San Francisco—Jonson's first SF gig in five years. He and fellow Wagon Repair co-founder Konrad Black will headline the club's main room, while Bay Area stalwart DJ Jenö and Brian Bejarano from AYLI top the second room's lineup with a back-to-back set. The following night, Saturday the 18th, will see Jonson jet to Boston to play Good Life as part of Together Festival, whose week-long program also includes Four Tet, Flying Lotus and Soul Clap. After a trip back to Europe, Jonson will return to the US, but only briefly, to play this year's Red Bull Music Academy closing party at Output in Brooklyn. That's his last one confirmed on the continent at the moment, and the two-room event will also feature Kerri Chandler, Mosca and a grip of L.I.E.S. artists and affiliates, including Legowelt, Shawn O'Sullivan and Bookworms.
