- The US producer has collaborated with Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen for the first release on his new label.
Theo Parrish has started a new label called Wildheart Recordings.
The famed selector and producer will run Wildheart alongside his long-standing Sound Signature imprint. "If the Sound Signature label releases are for the body, Wildheart is for everything else," he explained. The first release, Day Like This/Feel Loved, is a collaborative affair that features Parrish and legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. (The pair first met at the Red Bull Music Academy in Toronto 2007, and again at the London RBMA in 2010.) It also contains contributions from Eska, David Okumu (of The Invisible) and Andrew Ashong, the latter of whom collaborated with Parrish on last year's well-received Flowers 12-inch. The label will release music on both vinyl and digital formats.
