- This year's Volt festival will take place in Uppsala, Sweden, on June 8th. The daylong festival is now a staple of the Swedish festival calendar, and is held at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress, an eight-floor cultural venue located about 40 minutes' drive north of Stockholm. It is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2013, and the bill contains a mix of avant-garde electronics and techno. The live contingent is headed by Juan Atkins and his Model 500 outfit, with Shackleton, Holly Herndon, Taragana Pyjarama, TM404 (AKA Andreas Tilliander), Raime and former Pan Sonic man Mika Vainio, who will perform with Joachim Nordwall. The DJs announced so far include UNO affiliate Fatima Al Qadiri, towLie, Håkan Lidbo and former Breaking Through subject Skirt.
