  • Airhead will release his first LP, For Years, on June 11th. Though he might not be as famous as frequent collaborator James Blake, London's Rob McAndrews has had an impressive career by anyone's measure. After making some of the strangest music on RAMP sub-label Brainmath, he signed to R&S, who will also release his debut album. Besides making his own subdued beats ("floaty and ethereal" according to one RA review), he also tours as the guitarist in Blake's band and has worked with Brian Eno. The producer's recent work has showcased an allegiance for the quiet/loud dynamics of post-rock. This influence is reportedly quite prominent on For Years, with a press release citing bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion and Stars Of The Lid as important figures in McAndrews' musical development. The album is comprised of all new tracks except previously released R&S singles "Wait" and "Pyramid Lake." The closer, "Knives," is a collaboration with James Blake. You can stream first single "Autumn" on Airhead's SoundCloud. Tracklist 01. Wait 02. Milkola Bottle 03. Callow 04. Masami 05. Pyramid Lake 06. Azure Race 07. Autumn 08. Fault Line 09. Lightmeters 10. Knives feat. James Blake R&S will release For Years on June 11th, 2013.
