  • Leading synth manufacturer Moog Music has announced a new partnership with Paxahau, the minds behind Detroit's iconic techno festival Movement, for the 2014 edition of Asheville, North Carolina's Moogfest. Paxahau will replace AC Entertainment, which co-produced Moogfest for three years through 2012. Back in December, the partnership between Moog Music and AC Entertainment ended, and the latter company will throw their own festival, Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit, in Asheville in late October. That's usually when Moogfest has taken place, but the festival will not happen in 2013. Instead, according to an announcement on the Moog Music website, next year's edition is set to move to the opposite end of the calendar to take place on Friday, April 25th through Sunday the 27th. The switch from AC Entertainment, which is otherwise known for large-scale, rock-heavy festivals like Bonnaroo and Vegoose, to Paxahau seems like a logical one for Moog Music. Previous editions of Moogfest have hosted acclaimed artists like Richie Hawtin, Matthew Dear (AKA Audion) and Squarepusher—all three of whom happen to be on Movement's lineup this year. Unsurprisingly, further details for Moogfest 2014 have yet to be revealed, but you can keep updated via the festival's email list.
