- Further Records will issue the Irish producer's first full-length under his new alias.
Further Records will release Listen, the first full-length from John Daly under his The Smoke Clears alias, this May.
Daly inaugurated The Smoke Clears last year with Escape, a 12-inch on One Track Records. While the music Daly produces under his own name generally fits in the category of house and techno, Listen shows off his more abstract sensibilities, with tempos, rhythms and textures falling outside standard dance-floor template. It's the Irish producer's fifth full-length—sixth, if you count the cache of previously unreleased tunes he put out through Modyfier's Process mix series a few months ago—and second release on Further Records. As usual for Further, the album was cut at Berlin's famed Dubplates & Mastering, with vinyl and CD versions each appearing in editions of 500. Further will also release the album on cassette in an edition of 100.
