  • Grenier will release Voids Three on April 9th. Dean J Grenier has made some career changes recently. In addition to moving to Los Angeles from San Francisco, he changed his stage name from DJG to Grenier, signalling his shift away from dubstep. The third in his self-released Voids series comes after EPs under his new alias on Photek Productions and Tectonic last year. The first two Voids albums were released simultaneously in 2010, "[pulling] together the unfurling, diasporic tangents of what used to be dubstep" according to an RA review at the time. The new one is even more diverse, with tempos ranging from 102 BPM all the way up to 170. Voids Three consists of ten new tracks as well as remixes of three older DJG songs. The LP will be released for pay-what-you-want download on his website. Grenier will embark on a tour following the release of the album starting on April 19th. The first leg will take him through Atlanta, New Haven, Cleveland and Boston. American dubstep veteran Joe Nice will join him for a show in Washington DC. Then he'll hop on tour with Pearson Sound for dates in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Stanford University, plus a Reconstrvct party in Brooklyn featuring a grip of UK dubstep DJs. Tracklist 01.
