  • Mutek has announced the second wave of artists for their flagship festival in Montreal this summer. With versions now running in Spain and Mexico, Mutek is growing into an international festival. But the Montreal edition, now in its 14th year, is still very much Mutek's main event. They've already announced a host of artists like Herbert and Âme for this year's edition, which runs from May 29th through June 2nd. A handful more have now been added, with The Field and John Tejada joining the previously announced Michael Mayer and Saschienne on the festival's opening night for a celebration of Kompakt's 20th anniversary. Brandt Brauer Frick will present the North American premiere of a new live show, and Laurel Halo will make her Mutek debut, while Frivolous will appear for the first time since 2004. British experimental duo Emptyset and pair of Dial artists, Efdemin and John Roberts, the latter of who just announced details of his second album, have also been confirmed.
