The dance music boffin has compiled the first in a new series from Late Night Tales, with Jamiroquai, I:Cube and Padded Cell all featuring.
Bill Brewster has mixed the first instalment in Late Night Tales's After Dark series.
Running in parallel to the long-running Late Night Tales compilations, After Dark will be a more DJ-focused affair, and its first edition has been mixed by the acclaimed author and DJ. His selection features a number of previously unreleased cuts, including "Moon Plain" by Coober Pedy University Band, a new project featuring former RA podcaster Tornado Wallace, alongside tracks and remixes from I:Cube, Jamiroquai, Padded Cell, Zed Bias and Francois K. There will also be a vinyl sampler featuring four cuts from the mix.
Brewster says After Dark is "dance music for people who know how to make love." He added: "It's New York at 4 AM with the lights off and the strobes flaring. It's a Dalston basement with slow chugging basslines propelling a dancefloor. It's a starlit night on the coast of Croatia with glittery girls and burnished boys grooving to 110bpm anthems. It's great dance music with the Bosh-O-Meter turned to 0. If you want pounding trance, Lance, you've come to the wrong place. If you want a drop, break or explosion every 16 bars, then Swedish House Mafia is that way. This is music for dancers who know to move.
