  • Perc Trax has announced Perc Trax Ltd., a new sublabel kicking off imminently. "I wanted a label for special one off projects, collaborations and reissues," label head Perc says of Ltd., "and also projects that shamelessly aim directly for the dancefloor while avoiding the big room clichés that turn me off so much modern techno." The sublabel will also place heavy emphasis on the physical product. Each release will be pressed to color vinyl and with artwork from Birmingham-based designer Jonny Costello, who also did cover art for Perc's Wicker & Steel and Labour Division by Forward Strategy Group. The first Perc Trax Ltd. release is a reissue of Matt Whitehead's "A Is For Acid," which originally featured on a split EP with Neil Landstrumm released last year on Don't Recordings. Perc offers two reinterpretations of the track on the A-side, while Truss steps up as MPIA3 for a remix on the flip. The label is shooting for a late April release. According to the press release, Ltd. is the first of two sublabels Perc Trax will roll out this year. In June, they'll unveil a second sublabel focused on "noise, experimental and improvised music." Details are scarce at the moment, but the first release will feature Perc in collaboration with "one of his all-time heroes." Tracklist A1 A Is For Acid (Perc Redux) A2 A Is For Acid (Perc Mod Mix) B A Is For Acid (MPIA3 Definition) Perc Trax Ltd. will release A Is For Acid in late April, 2013.
