  • The London Electronic Music Event will take place April 13th through 14th at Rich Mix in Shoreditch. On paper, the event looks like a small-scale music festival. But instead of DJing or playing live sets, the acts booked give lectures, workshops and Q&As, providing a window into the industry's inner workings. Two of the best-known speakers this year are drum & bass godfather Goldie (who recently sat down with Joe Muggs for an RA Exchange) and Matt Edwards AKA Radio Slave, who will be giving a talk entitled "Running a Label: The Rekids Story." Many of the other speakers work behind the scenes, but their impact on electronic music is notable nevertheless. Former Beatport manager Daniel Cole, producer and radio presenter Andi Durrant, label developer Duncan King, mastering engineer Matt Colton and sound designer Sharooz are some of the other panelists this year. Production workshops and sessions on industry topics like online presence and radio play will also be available to attendees. You can check out the event's website for the full schedule and information about how to attend.
