  • Smallpeople will visit Australia for the first time this March to play shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. The Hamburg pair, made up of Just von Ahlefeld, AKA Dionne, and Julius Steinhoff, are the men behind deep house imprint and record store Smallville. Established in 2006, the label has been a home to artists like Christopher Rau, Move D & Benjamin Brunn and Moomin, as well as occasional contributors STL and Sven Tasnadi. Ahlefeld and Steinhoff have consistently managed to balance label management and production, last year completing their first full length, Salty Days. Already this year the duo have released another EP, In The Jungle, which was their first 12-inch on Gerd Janson's Running Back imprint. Smallpeople's tour will commence on March 15th at Brisbane's Bar Soma, with local promoters Subtrakt enlisting Rikki Newton, Percy Miracles and Le Hoots as support. From there they head to Melbourne for a Funf boat party on the 16th, where the Victoria Star will be boarded at 7:00PM from Dock 9, Central Pier Docklands, before flying up to Sydney on March 17th for a Sunday session at The Abercrombie Hotel with the S.A.S.H. crew. Tickets for the Melbourne show can be purchased here on RA.
