  • The Monkey Bar turns three next month with parties in Berlin and their hometown of Barcelona. The promoters have established themselves as one of Barcelona's flagship house nights, bringing top international talent—often over from the United States—to venues across the city. The last three years have found the likes of DJ Qu, Jus Ed, Dixon and Trus'me playing alongside a tight-knit crew of residents. They'll celebrate their anniversary with a lineup that shouldn't look unfamiliar to those who follow the party. The birthday begins on March 8th at Prince Charles in Berlin, with "New For U" star Andrés and Sistrum boss Patrice Scott in from Detroit to headline. Paris-based My Love is Underground affiliate Brawther and Hello?Repeat's Patrick Specke will also DJ, along with The Monkey Bar's Hinode, Dario Damerini, Alfonso, C.H.I.C.H.I. and Marc Gimeno. After a day off, the party returns to Barcelona's Soho Club on March 10th for a slightly smaller shindig. Andrés, Scott, Hinode, Damerini and Gimeno are sticking around for that one. The parties will also celebrate the launch of The Monkey Bar Records. Hinode, a Berlin-based Italian duo who favor analogue production techniques, are at the helm of the label's first release, The Hustlers. It features three originals and a Patrice Scott remix, and will land in stores in April. Tickets for the Berlin and Barcelona parties are available right here on RA.
