  • Things are beginning to take shape at Output, with Loco Dice, rising local Anthony Parasole and a handful of Berghain/Panorama Bar affiliates booked to play the new Brooklyn nightclub in the coming weeks. Few recent nightclub openings in New York have stirred up the excitement that Output has. Word of a new club had been spreading for months both locally and internationally, but hard facts were scarce. Initial reports suggested the club would have a high-end soundsystem, a strict no-photography policy and a tough door, and that a pair of longtime New Yorkers—Cielo's Nicolas Matar and Halcyon proprietor Shawn Schwartz—were part of the team behind the club. As event listings for the club began appearing on RA, a distinctly underground mission statement took shape: "Output is open to anyone, but is not for everyone. Output welcomes individuals who value the communal experience of music over cameras and bottles." With a few weekends under its belt, Output has lived up to those early reports. As rumored, sound is one of the club's main attractions: Funktion One has made Output a showroom for some of its latest technology, and a number of the system's components will look unfamiliar to even the most studious clubbers. Warnings about the club's ban on cameras are stenciled on the walls throughout the club. With parties featuring Mike Simonetti, Jus-Ed and Omar-S anchoring its first few weekends, Output has stuck to its underground credo. What they've scheduled for the next month mostly continues the trend, with a few bigger acts filling in the gaps. This weekend kicks off with one of the latter: Loco Dice will be at the helm this Friday night, with support from Cielo resident Willie Graff. Things go underground once again the following night when Berghain regular DVS1 headlines and Parasole warms up. Warehouse party fixtures Taimur & Fahad of Blk|Market Membership will close out the weekend, bringing Sasha to headline the club's first Sunday night event. As previously reported, the Bunker will take over the space on February 22nd, with Speedy J, Peter Van Hoesen and resident Mike Servito presiding. Shlohmo's Laid Out Tour comes through on March 7th, and another Blk|Market Membership night featuring Ostgut Ton's Ben Klock and Ryan Elliott is scheduled for March 8th. John Digweed will also appear at the club the following weekend on March 16th. With the exceptions of Sasha and Shlomo, advance tickets for each party mentioned are available here on RA.
