  • The next instalment of Never Mind The Balearics! will be held at a secret Sydney beach location on Australia Day, with Melbourne disco editor Julien Love headlining. NNow gearing up for its fifth edition, this year sees the party move away from its traditional home of The Island, a floating venue on Sydney Harbour. The crew has cultivated a sound that ties together soul, disco, house and other strands of Balearic music, with past headliners including Disco Deviance boss Dicky Trisco, local staple Simon Caldwell and Tamas Jones of Hey Convict. This time around, Melbourne regular Julien Love will play the main slot, sharing his extensive collection of disco rarities. Having released edits on Nitedog's Blackdisco imprint and his own (now defunct) Kebabi Man blog, Love was recently selected as one of two successful Australian applicants to 2013's Red Bull Music Academy in New York. Joining him at the beach will be Soul of Sydney jock Phil Toke as well as NMTB residents InnerWestSoul and Pete Dot. At 3:00 PM on January 26th, partygoers will be transported by bus from the CBD to the secret location, complete with Funktion One sound system. Full details are yet to be announced and tickets can be purchased here on RA.
