  • Sabre, Stray and Halogenix have announced a new project called Ivy Lab. Each of the three UK producers has a similar take on drum & bass, focused on high production values and sharp sound design. Stray is known for incorporating junglist breaks into his tunes, while Sabre has experimental tendencies as seen on his A Wandering Journal concept album. Much much of Halogenix's material has explored intricately percussive territory in a similar vein to Rockwell. This isn't the first time they've all worked together: Stray has previously collaborated with Halogenix on a single for Warm Communications, and the trio released a single on Critical last year called "Oblique." Their first release under the Ivy Lab name comes through the same imprint, and the group says the new moniker is meant as a "statement of intent... it's us affirming our commitment to the project as a long-term endeavour." Following "Afterthought," which features vocalist Frank Carter III just as "Oblique" did, the trio will release another EP on Critical in the summer. To kick off the project, Ivy Lab are giving away a VIP remix of "Oblique." Tracklist A Afterthought feat. Frank Carter III B Brat Critical Music will release Afterthought / Brat on February 4th, 2012.
