  • Dirtybird boss Claude VonStroke will head to Australia with labelmates Justin Martin and J.Phlip for a national label tour. Considering the genesis of Dirtybird was a series of daytime BBQ parties held in San Francisco more than a decade ago, the label, which was officially founded in 2005, has come a long way. VonStroke's penchant for tech house, bass music and frequent silliness has been the foundation of the imprint, as has the original family of artists, particularly Justin Martin. 2012 was a particularly good year for Martin, with the release of his debut LP Ghettos & Gardens and its subsequent remix package, while VonStroke maintained a busy touring schedule and put out more than a dozen records including the first Hatched compilation featuring tracks from Catz 'N Dogz and Eats Everything. Now returning to Australia as a troupe, including Dirtybird signee J.Phlip, their first party will be down at Melbourne's Brown Alley on January 25th. The following day the trio will take over The Ivy for a Chinese Laundry garden party which runs from midday and features locals Whitecat, Ben Ashton and Antoine Vice. On the 27th, VonStroke will head up to Skyroom in Brisbane on his own for another day party which kicks off at 2:00PM, before the whole group fly to Perth for their final show at Ambar that night.
