  • AC Entertainment will no longer operate Moogfest in the US. Moog Music Inc, which owns the Moogfest name, has not licensed the festival to AC Entertainment for next year. The latter promotions company, which also runs Bonnaroo festival, has co-produced the experimental weekender in Asheville every October for the past three years, but in 2013 will hold the first edition of a new event called Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit. They say they've been "encouraged to explore other options" in order to best capitalize on the busy Halloween weekend. Concrete info on the future of either festival is sparse at the moment. An article in Ashvegas, however, points to a previous interview with Moog Music Inc. CEO Mike Adams, where he pledges to try and keep Moogfest in Asheville, while increasing its size and scope.
