- The 80-minute track is the first part of Magazine's new Rainbow Book series.
Cologne label Magazine will release an 80-minute piece by Jens-Uwe Beyer next week called Red Book.
Beyer is one of main forces behind Magazine, along with fellow Cologne musicians Barnt and Crato. Like many of the label's past releases, Red Book charts the middle ground between krautrock and club music, with elements of psychedelia and world music layered over a 4/4 pulse. The live-mixed, 80-minute piece (which the press release calls a "DJ tool as well as avantgardistic liturgy") is the first in a conceptual series that will also include Yellow, Orange, White, Blue, Beige, Green, Purple and Scarlet. Red Book will be released digitally and on CD, with a limited edition 12-inch available only through Kompakt.fm
