  • Matthew Dear will play a show with his band in Room One of fabric next week. Since his 2007 album Asa Breed, the Ghostly International veteran has been moving more and more in the direction of pop in the music he makes under his own name. (Dear has continued to produce techno of various sorts under his Audion, False and Jabberjaw aliases.) As his sound has evolved, so too has his approach to live performance: these days he usually plays with a full band. His ensemble's current lineup includes No Regular Play's Greg Paulus on trumpet, and Samer Ghandry, Danny Scales and Ian Chang playing percussion, bass and drums respectively, while Dear sings, plays guitar and mans the electronics. The upcoming gig in Room One will also feature London trio The Invisible, who signed with Ninja Tune this year. DJ support will come from Daniel Avery and Matt Walsh. Tickets for the concert are available here on RA.
