  • STL has a new album called Secret Weapons due out in December via his Something imprint. Born Stephan Laubner, the German producer is something of an enigma, releasing prolifically while also keeping an extremely low profile. Laubner's lo-fi sound design and shuffling rhythms have made him instantly recognizable, but his discography also covers a lot of ground, from the floor-friendly material to more abstract sides under the name Lunatik Sound System. 2012 has already been a big year for Laubner, with his EP Flying Saucer Attack finding him once again paired up with Smallville, who released his quietly anthemic 2009 classic Silent State. By our count, Secret Weapons is Laubner's 12th STL album (and first since 2010). It contains eight full-length cuts, and in typical STL fashion, each side ends in a loop cut to a locked groove. Tracklist A1 Bronson A2 Wild Thing A3 Loop A B1 Thrill Trumpet B2 Moon Patrol B3 Loop B C1 Back Up C2 Global Village Madness C3 Loop C D1 Freytagsches Dramenschema D2 Get A Room D3 Loop D Something will release Secret Weapons on December 10th, 2012.
