- The Parisian techno artist's new label begins with a new artist, Claudia Anderson.
Cédric Bros, AKA Marcelus, is ready to launch a new label called Singular Records.
Over the past two years, Marcelus has carved out a style that balances utilitarian techno with just a hint of house grooviness—a combination that sounded very much at home on DJ Deep's label, Deeply Rooted House. He describes Singular Records as "a way to give, participate and [get] more involved in techno." The label kicks off with the debut release from Claudia Anderson, a 24-year-old DJ and producer from Vienna. Entitled Hysteria, the EP makes a clear statement of intent for Singular Records, with four cuts of understated and hypnotic techno that occasionally ease in bits of melody. The EP is due out in December, with a digital version following two months later.
