  • Gerd Janson will make his way to Australia later this month to play gigs in Melbourne and Sydney. Janson's involvement in house music goes well beyond DJing. As the founder of the acclaimed German label Running Back, he has released records from the likes of Theo Parrish, Todd Terje and Tiger & Woods, while his involvement with the Red Bull Music Academy has seen him hosting lectures with a number of modern day disco and house favourites. Though he rarely releases his own studio productions, his recent collaboration with Phillip Lauer as Tuff City Kids received praise when it dropped back in July of this year. This Australian trip will see him kicking off on November 23rd in Melbourne. Animals Dancing will host the party at their usual spot, The Mercat Basement, with residents Tornado Wallace, Andee Frost and Otologic completing the bill. The following night, Janson heads up to Sydney for a first-time joint venture between local promoters CO-OP and Picnic. Kali and the CO-OP DJs will be warming things up from 10:00 PM at Tatlers in Darlinghurst. Tickets to both the Melbourne and Sydney shows can be purchased here on RA.
