- The two LA labels will release a joint compilation next week.
Stones Throw and Leaving Records will release Dual Form on November 6th.
The two imprints, both based out of LA, will collaborate for the first time with the compilation. Stones Throw has become a hip-hop institution of sorts, founded by Peanut Butter Wolf in 1996, while Leaving Records is the stubbornly non-traditional brainchild of Brainfeeder affiliate Matthewdavid. Like many of the latter's releases, Dual Form will first see release on double cassette (with three exclusive Matthewdavid tracks) in November. On January 13th, 2013, the compilation will get a second release, this time on CD, vinyl and digital formats.
All tracks on the compilation are previously unreleased, with established artists like Dntel, Sun Araw and Julia Holter rubbing elbows with newer names such as The Cyclist.
