  • Brooklyn-based artist Jakub Alexander, AKA Heathered Pearls, will release his first album, Loyal, this December on Ghostly International. Until now Alexander has mostly made his mark as the co-founder of Moodgadget, the left-field electronic label he runs with Adam Hunt. He's also been a DJ for years, having spent his early days playing parties around Ann Arbor with the likes of Matthew Dear and Ryan Elliott. Loyal is recording debut, and shows his avant-garde side in full effect: the record is nine tracks of gently melodic ambience. "I wanted to find a world that was built on repetition, erosion and melody because making these songs was about recreating soothing environments," he says. Alexander also describes the album as a tribute to his aunt and his mother (pictured on the cover), who first introduced him to ambient music ten years ago. Loyal will be available on vinyl and as a digital download. Tracklist 01. The Worship Bell 02. Beach Shelter 03. Lower Dome 04. Left Climber 05. Steady Veil 06. Raising Our Ashes 07. Ringing Temple (Decreased Version) 08. Precious Dive 09. Docile Touch Ghostly International will release Loyal on December 11th, 2012.
