  • American techno artist Ren Schofield, better known as Container, will release his next album in November. Schofield is a techno producer with roots in noise music—an influence that's perfectly clear in his music today. His new album shares a lot in common with his last one: both are five tracks long, both are released by Spectrum Spools (an Ohio label associated with Austria's Editions Mego), and both are simply called LP. Recorded over Labor Day weekend in his new home of Providence, Rhode Island, the record shows Schofield further honing his blunt, unrefined and unabashedly out-there style of techno (as the press release puts it, LP is "recorded in mono and it cuts right down the middle of your skull"). For more on Container, have a look at Justin Farrar's Breaking Through feature on him from last year. Tracklist 01. Dripping 02. Paralyzed 03. Acclimator 04. Perforate 05. Refract Editions Mego and Spectrum Spools will release LP on November 26th, 2012.
