  • Slugabed and Ikonika will land in Australia this weekend to play three shows. Both artists have emerged within the past four years as popular players in the UK bass scene. Ikonika, who runs London-based imprint Hum + Buzz with her partner Optimum, has released an album and half a dozen 12-inches on Hyperdub. Slugabed released his first full-length back in May of this year on the long-running Ninja Tune, with another three records dropping on the UK imprint so far this year. Together the two will begin their Australian visit in Melbourne for a show at Brown Alley on October 12th, also featuring fellow countrymen Rudimental and Emalkay. Their Sydney show on the 13th will be hosted by Astral People and Niche Productions at One22, where local bass outsider Dro Carey joins the bill. Perth will be their last stop on October 14th, with the pair performing at This Is Nowhere Festival at the University of Western Australia. Other acts on the lineup include Jimmy Edgar and HTRK.
