- The German artist will release her latest album this month.
Gudrun Gut will release a new album, Wildlife, on October 8th.
The record marks the Berlin-based artist's first solo full-length in quite some time, with last album I Put A Record On landing in 2007. She hasn't been completely silent since then, collaborating with AGF as Greie Gut Fraktion and releasing the heavily experimental Baustelle as well as a remix collection. Gut heads up the Monika Enterprise label, a prolific imprint active for over a decade and releasing avant-garde takes on electronic music from mostly German artists.
Wildlife was recorded during a retreat to Uckermark in the North German country, and reportedly fuses inspiration from nature with her usual electronic elements. Flirting with techno and synth pop, the record's sound palette is a mixture of heavily treated sounds, drum machines, and live instruments like guitar. Her talk-singing vocals also feature quite prominently, including a cover of Tina Turner's "Simply The Best." The album's release was preceded by a remix EP entitled Best Garden in August, featuring reworks from Jörg Burger and Thomas Fehlmann.
