  • Long-running DJ duo and Get Physical honchos M.A.N.D.Y. will headline the opening party for the newly remodeled basement of Slate in Manhattan's Flatiron District. The New York promotion team Mad Not Mad is behind the new space, which will feature a Funktion One soundsystem and sits beneath an existing, less music-centric nightclub. The party is billed on their website as the venue's "soft launch," and it will be the first time in three years that M.A.N.D.Y. has performed in New York as a duo. (Philipp Jung has played the last handful of appearances solo.) Jimmy Vallance, whose group Bob Moses are recent signings to Brooklyn's Scissor & Thread imprint, is also on the bill. Tickets to the event are available here on RA.
