  • Scottish techno artist Stephen Brown is about to relaunch his long dormant label, Realtime. As Todd L. Burns found out in his feature on him earlier this year, Brown is a deep talent with decades of experience who nonetheless keeps a low profile, having never made the leap to doing techno full-time. He's put out dozens of 12-inches over the past 20 years, appearing on labels like Transmat, Subject Detroit and, more recently, Skudge Presents, but one of his earliest projects was his own label, Realtime. Originally conceived as a platform for music that had been rejected by other labels, Realtime released five 12-inches over 1999 and 2000, all by Brown himself, and has been in hibernation ever since. After getting a lot of positive feedback to unreleased material in his live sets, Brown decided it was time to give Realtime another go. The label's first EP in 12 years is due out in October, and will feature two untitled tracks by the man himself. If you're in London, you can catch Brown this weekend playing live in Room 2 at fabric. Tracklist A1 Untitled B1 Untitled Realtime Records will release REALTIME..006 in October 2012.
