  • Nick Curly will play in Brighton on October 12th. The party will mark a few different milestones. It's the third birthday for Beatsworkin, a local house outfit that has had artists like Burnski and Terry Francis grace its decks in the past. It's also their first event at a new, larger venue, The Haunt, a move meant to accomodate Beatsworkin's growing audience. Finally, it's pat of the the fifth anniversary tour for Curly's popular Cécille label. Curly started Cécille as a platform for tracks that were more "experimental and playful" than the kind of thing he'd release on his other label, 8bit Records. The imprint has since become a staple for minimal, club-ready tech house from the likes of Butch and Johnny D, and also saw the release of Curly's debut album Between The Lines earlier this year. He'll be joined on at the party by his Greek label mate Alex Celler, plus Hypercolour and Crosstown Rebels associate Glimpse, who will play live, and the Beatsworkin residents, Jamie Bawn and Chris Eaton. Tickets to Beatsworking presents 5 Years of Cécille are available here on RA.
