  • On October 6th, the Hackney Empire will play host to Alpha-ville LIVE, the first in a new series of events from the London festival. The event marks a change for Alpha-ville, who aren't putting on a full festival lineup this year due to a lack of funding. Regardless, the scaled-back program advances Alpha-ville's mission of blending techno and more avant-garde forms of electronic music, featuring the London premiere of a new collaboration from Mexican electronic musician Murcof and visual artist Simon Geilfus of the AntiVJ collective, The Field playing live, and an audiovisual set from Raster-Noton co-founder Byetone. Also on October 6, The Hackney Picturehouse will screen an affiliated program of "moving image works," including a piece by Ghostly International- and Sepalcure-affiliated visual artist Sougwen. Tickets for Alpha-ville LIVE are available here on RA.
