Butterz, the grime label founded by Elijah and Skilliam, have announced they're bringing a number of new owners into the fold.
Starting life as a blog in 2007, Butterz became a full-time label in 2010 and is widely credited as helping to revitalize grime. Yesterday, in a post on their Facebook page, the label announced they'd be growing in size, taking on label regulars Swindle, Royal-T and Terror Danjah, along with Dane Bradshaw of the PR agency Two Plates, as owners. In an interview with Fact Magazine posted today, Elijah explained that he not only needed help with the label's day-to-day operations but wanted to be able to put out more of the music each new owner was promoting through their DJ sets and radio shows. Asked what effect the lineup might have on their release schedule, Elijah said fans could expect more releases that reflect an ethos of "embracing the diversity" of those now involved in the label.
