- Prince Charles hosts the blog's inaugural interactive music design party this Friday at Prince Charles.
- Create Digital Music founder Peter Kirn heads up the inaugural edition of the MusicMakers design party this Friday at Prince Charles in Berlin. The event, which offers visitors the chance to try out new interactive music systems created by a diverse group of Berlin-based musician-technologists, both poses and seeks to answer a question: "In the age of anonymous laptop DJs and machine-selected automatic streams, what would it take to make music tangible again?" In addition to exhibiting new interactive installations and music-making devices—a "futuristic gestural AirPiano" and an oscillator made from a banana are both on the agenda—MusicMakers will feature an array of live and DJ performances from artists like Hotflush's Lando Kal, Non Projects' Phoebe Kiddo (debuting her new live set), and Leisure System resident Barker, who will be joined by Owen Roberts and Easton West in a "live-dance-music jam." Kirn himself will perform as well, joining collaborators Anette K. Hansen and Caroline Blind for an "interactive synthesizer visualization," which will produce patterns to be transcribed onto limited-edition screen prints. Kirn is curating the event with Alex Sebag, Iohanna Nicenboim and Raquel Chaves of the design blog PLATform, plus Anette K. Hansen of SemiDomesticated.
