  • Bambounou will release his debut album, Orbiting, this November on 50 Weapons. Bambounou is Jeremy Guindo, a 22-year-old Parisian producer who's been active in the French scene for a few years, collaborating with artists like Joakim and French Fries. His sound is a pastiche of, in his own words, "African rhythm grooves, Chicago and Detroit House artists like DJ Funk, DJ Slugo and of course the Dance Mania label," plus dubstep, UK funky and techno (especially Drexciya). "Music from video games or anything Nintendo in general has probably also left it's [sic] marks on my creative soul," he says. "Without wanting to sound like a teenager who hasn’t yet reached puberty, I am very much into video games, cat gifs, any weird animals on youtube, Curiosity on Mars, fantasy genre books, fiction novel and swimming. I swim at least 3 times a week." This high-energy crossover style makes Bambounou a perfect fit for Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label, which he debuted on earlier this year with the Cobe EP. One track from that record ("Mass") appears on Orbiting; the rest of the songs are previously unreleased. Tracklist 01. Hyper 02. Any Other Service 03. Mass 04. Data 05. Capsule Process 06. EX06 07. Let Me Get feat. French Fries 08. Off the Motion 09. Great Escape 10. Challenger 11. Splaz 12. Orbiting 50 Weapons will release Orbiting on November 23rd, 2012.
