  • Damon Kirkham AKA Jon Convex will headline the next Compound show in Sydney this weekend. Kirkham, whose Jon Convex moniker has only been in use since 2011, is perhaps best known as one half of London duo Instra:mental, the pair behind the influential Nonplus+ imprint and Autonomic podcasts. An active and innovative player in the scene since the early '00s, Kirkham's latest project has proven to be his most prolific solo outlet yet. As Jon Convex he has released half a dozen twelve-inches and a full-length studio album, Idoru, in just over 12 months, taking a broad approach to house, techno and electro. Compound will host the gig at Goodgod Small Club this Saturday night, where regular locals Zeus, Linesteppa and Community will be among the acts supporting Kirkham, who will be playing a three hour set. Doors open at 11:00 PM.
