Demdike Stare billed for Adventures in Modern Music Festival

- The tenth annual Adventures in Modern Music Festival will take place in Chicago beginning on Wednesday, October 3rd. Co-produced by The Wire magazine and Windy City venue Empty Bottle (where all events will be held), the festival is billed as a "five-day celebration of outsider sounds." The lineup certainly lives up to that theme: LA bass duo Nguzunguzu head up the first night's show, which will also feature Nashville's prolific lo-fi rocker R. Stevie Moore. Demdike Stare and Andy Stott, both from Manchester's Modern Love imprint, will play live on Thursday the 4th. Out-of-town acts scheduled for later in the week include Norwegian ambient legend Biosphere, French composer Sylvain Chauveau, and a couple more UK artists, Micachu (performing with her band, The Shapes) and Holy Other. Chicago will be represented by Supreme Cuts and Traxman, among others.
