  • Berlin-based DJ and producer Danny Bermam, AKA Red Rack'em, will visit Australia later this month. While Berman has been spinning for over a decade and releasing music since 2004, starting out with his Smugglers Inn Series of hip hop remixes, it has been the past four years in particular which have seen the Scotsman become a prolific deep house artist. Both as Red Rack'em and as his other more disco-oriented alias, Hot Coins, he released a string of 12-inches on labels like Tirk, Undertones and Ramp Recordings, as well as an album of early material on his own Bergerac imprint. Since his move to Berlin in 2011, Berman has been working on full length releases under both monikers as well as putting together a Hot Coins live band,on top of regularly spinning around Europe and continuing to host his Smugglers Inn radio show. His second trip to Australia will start start in Adeleide on August 30th with an In The Deep End party at Sugar. Berman then heads to Melbourne on September 7th to play at The Croft Institute, before hitting Sydney for Mad Racket on the 8th with residents Simon Caldwell, Ken Cloud, Jimmi James and Zootie at their usual spot, the Marrickville Recreation Centre.
