  • Kenny Larkin will be making his way back to Melbourne and Sydney to play two shows next month. Larkin, whose career spans more than two decades, has been one of the most revered names in Detroit techno since the mid-'90s. His jazzy style and forward thinking approach to the genre has been extensively documented on labels like R&S, Warp Records, Transmat and, more recently, Rush Hour and Planet E. Since his move to California, Larkin has pursued his passion for stand-up comedy, though he remains active on the international DJ circuit, still managing to spin in a dozen countries so far this year. This visit to Australia, his third in as many years, will kick off on September 14th at Melbourne's New Guernica. Chameleon Recordings and Darkbeat are teaming up to present the show, enlisting locals Uone, Steve Stevens (Steve Ward vs Jamie Stevens) and Rollin Connection as support acts. The Sydney gig on the following night takes place at The Spice Cellar, where Robbie Lowe and Murat Kilic will be amongst the other names on the bill. Tickets to the Sydney show can be picked up here on RA.
