  • Bangface Weekender 2012 will take place in Trevelgue Hoiday Park in Cornwall from September 14th through 16th. This edition of the annual event will take place a little later than usual (2011's instalment took place in May), at a new location in a valley complete with caravan accommodations and camping options. It will feature the same large-scale lineup with an emphasis on harder, more experimental sounds. Warp Recordings legend and Cornwall native Aphex Twin will headline the festival along with Canadian breakcore hero Venetian Snares. (Fellow Cornwall-hailing producer Luke Vibert will round out the IDM-leaning group of the headliners.) Also billed are hip-hop/electro veteran Egyptian Lover, Planet Mu signees Hellfish & Producer, Scottish techno producer Alex Smoke, German drum & bass artist Current Value and Rephlex mainstay DMX Krew, plus South African hip-hop group Die Antwoord. This year's Bangface also features a number of newer, bass-oriented artists like the recently-profiled Dutchman Dave Huismans under his 2562 alias, British trio Dark Sky and Austrian synth-funk wizard Dorian Concept. The festivities also include a beach party on the Saturday featuring junglists Bizzy B, Remarc and Equinox as well as hardcore act 2 Bad Mice, while Aphex Twin's Rephlex label will have a 21st birthday showcase as well.
