- The full lineup has been announced for Moogfest 2012, taking place this October in Asheville, North Carolina. Drawing inspiration from Robert Moog, the influential synthesizer creator who called Asheville home, this year's festival will take place over two days—Friday, October 26th and Saturday the 27th—at venues across the city's downtown area. The past two editions of Moogfest ran for three days, so this year's lineup appears a bit shorter, but no less diverse, with UK icons Orbital, Primus (decked out with a 3D stage show) and indie acts Santigold and Miike Snow all getting top billing. Techno veterans Richie Hawtin and Carl Craig are also confirmed, along with Squarepusher, Four Tet, Pantha Du Prince and Actress. Other highlights include Brooklyn's Blondes, Texas post-rockers Explosions In The Sky, GZA from Wu-Tang Clan (performing the '90s hip-hop classic Liquid Swords), and Pittsburgh psych-rock outfit Black Moth Super Rainbow.
