  • Edinburgh's Substance party will host its 50th event on August 10th. The Scottish promoter has been throwing parties for over five years now, featuring a mixture of techno, bass music, and range of prominent electronic artists, including names like Clark, Luke Slater and Boddika. For their fiftieth show, at Edinburgh's Bongo Club, Substance have chosen a half local headliner: Destroyaz, the collaboration between Scottish native Neil Landstrumm and Berlin-based American Bill Youngman. Separately and together, both artists are known for experimental, occasionally dark styles of techno with an electro kick. Substance 50 will mark the UK debut of their collaborative live set. They'll be playing with Underground Resistance member and "Knights of the Jaguar" producer DJ Rolando, whose own fast-paced techno should be a suitable match for the duo. Rounding off the bill is Substance resident Gavin Richardson, who will make a return after a few months absence due to touring.
