  • Dommune will host a free festival called Freedommune A New Zero this August in Tokyo. The popular streaming club party tried to host the first edition of Freedommune last year, partly in an effort to help raise money for earthquake relief efforts, though unfortunately the event was cancelled at the last minute due to weather. This year's edition, titled A New Zero, will play host to a few of the same artists, including DVS1 and local heavyweights DJ Nobu and Ken Ishii. Some of Japan's most esteemed noise artists will be in the house as well, namely Merzbow (back from last year) and Keiji Haino. Also confirmed are Berlin-based DJ Heiko Laux, Dial artist John Roberts and German krautrock innovator Manuel Göttsching, of Ash Ra Temple and E2-E4 fame. The whole thing will be broadcast live on YouTube, and entrance is completely free.
