  • Philip Gamble AKA Girl Unit is set to make his Australian debut this month. Still a relatively fresh face on the UK bass scene, Gamble's first release on Night Slugs back in 2010 acted as a powerful springboard for the young Londoner, with "Wut", his follow-up twelve-inch, firmly securing his foothold in the international market. His most recent release, "Club Rez", earned him praise for being an "ingeniously innovative songwriter", indicating a high level of consistency in the quality of his output. Gamble's profile has also continued to grow as a result of a busy touring schedule, with the Brit playing shows in more than a dozen countries in the past year. His first Australian appearance will take place over the last weekend of this month, starting with a show at Revolver Upstairs in Melbourne on July 27th where he will share the bill with Jon Convex. The following evening, Gamble will play at Sydney's Chinese Laundry, before heading to Brisbane on the 29th for the launch of Kush Club at Coniston Lane. Tickets to the Brisbane party can be picked up here on RA.
